The People Saying AI Won’t Replace Jobs Barely Use It

The people most sure AI won’t replace jobs use it the least. They tried a chatbot, got a mediocre email, and called it hype. That’s the tail end of the adoption curve judging the frontier: the weakest version of the tech, used the weakest way, generalized to the whole economy.

The rest of us see it clearly. BCG’s 2026 research found the paradox: the executives who use AI the most are the most worried about what it does to jobs. It’s not robots in offices. It’s one sharp operator with agents doing a team’s output, and the team quietly not getting backfilled. Every “AI won’t replace jobs” take I’ve read came from someone who doesn’t have AI working for them while they sleep.

The skeptics aren’t stupid. They’re late.
